Neon

She's always buzzing just like Neon, Neon, Neon

I know I've expressed my dislike for jeans many times before but I've been hording cloths in my wardrobe waiting for a sunny day to wear some of them. That stupid fear of wearing a good outfit for the wrong occasion. When my friend so graciously requested my presence at the filming of her music video I was so flustered about what to wear. She kept saying come formally dressed! Oh gosh! of all the things people say. But I said hey! Not like it really meant anything because it was happening @ urban solace, now for such an amazing place how could anyone wear formals.

So finally when I opened my over cluttered wardrobe and found my neon top, I just had to wear it. There was something about the colour, I still remember the first time I saw a bunch of neon garments on one rail. That was a while back when I still worked for Maison, It was the happiest rail in the store. Of course I lied when I told everyone I could never carry it off. So When I found this @ soul sante I grabbed it with both hands.

So it took me a few more seconds to decide what to wear it with, naturally with the insufficient time at hand I chose to wear it with my skinny jeans and pumps (I know it such a typical cliche). So I paired it with a printed belt and over-sized clutch, also that ring I've been wearing to work almost every day. Amen! I was done...

Animal print in trend

Ready to bring out the animal in you?

Why do you thing there was a boom in the whole animal print trend? Or even in music when Miley sang fly on the wall, Shakira sings she wolf, Baha men sing who lets the dog out, even Elvis, The Beatles, Cobra starship, etc give refrences to animals. I guess it's because we might be all civilized but at that strange moment we all know the animal inside us wants to do something not so typical. We all have one animal we can all relate to, So whats your animal?

The most popular animal print in the market is Leopard, Zebra, and the Snake. its very easy to shop for one but the trick is to buy one that perfectly suits you. I never did buy an animal print, because wearing any sort of print in itself is quite the task in my head. I prefer to keep it simple, but then I found this top I was so thrilled I just couldn't let it go. Most prints look tacky and unrealistic like a modified graphic print, But this one just stood out like a real leopard coat. It was PERFECT considering my massive feline obsession.

It's a ensemble that came together perfectly in my head and when I wore it. Also I feel so delighted that every time I wear it, the top's always complimented :) Especially when my mom, who's always criticizing my choices, decides to make a direct compliment (that is without adding her but's after it!)

monochrome

The all time famous... B&W?

"Black and white" she said. It felt like I was condemned for no reason. I remember it was my 2nd assignment in college, we were told to do the whole submission in black and white. Right up to that point the two did not classify as colours, Its taken the maturity that came with age to understand the value of these colours.

Many people would say that black and white are too jarring to be wore together, personally I find them elusive best friends. the combination still doesn't sit in my head. Yet it exhibits a lot of strength and control, the lack of the ability to fully derive a mood in the combination is most intriguing. But my mind that has to be Sherlock Holmes has to kill the mystery therefore to break away I picked to carry my red bag and gold choker to try to look edgy yet bring in that subtle classy look.

I know its been a long time since the world has been talking about monochrome! but we all know this is a trend that's always been around and can never go out of style. Trends are for those who forget that the things in your wardrobe can not be buried, remember to wear your style like your skin.

"Being glamorous is about strength and confidence. It's black and white - dramatic. You have to be strong." Catherine Zeta-Jones
