summer wardrobe

Lighter Brighter Summer

Whats worse than the perfectly cool Bangalore turning incredibly hot in summer. Yup summer is setting in! and it's time for a wardrobe change. I couldn't think of a better way of starting my summer shopping with a pair of shorts. I don't even know how much longer I would survive the heat my hair down, The fringe is killing me now. summer makes me want to lighten everything I wear. Yes that means lighter cloths, lighter colours, lighter make-up, lighter footwear. I know many of you might wonder why the scarf? but hey, truth be told I find wearing a cotton scarf in summers just as good as wearing an over sized scarf in winter.

thrift shop sale!

So! there are so many random things about this style that I want to say. Yet the truth is we all know the feeling of having something in the wardrobe that we are dying to wear even though we feel it's not yet time for it to be worn. I honestly wore the outfit purely for the top. I remember at work when we received Joseph and Willow (it was SS'13 I think) in the bright pinks, fiery oranges and neon yellows, I was dying to get my hands on the colour too. The idea of finding that colour in a Georgette eluded my mind and I never bothered to find anything like it.

So, I think all you spree shoppers would know the feeling when you come across a style you never thought you would find. What made it better was I found it in a thrift shop on sale! The back of my head was screaming help (I was actually looking for shoes), normal anxiety response is fight or flight but my heart and the rest of my whole self refused to listen. I hate to admit it but I probably wouldn't wear this combination again. I'd trade the jeans for a black leggings and the heels for my pale gold kolhapuries, Not just because it's more comfortable but also because I have the tendency to Indianize every thing I wear in every small way possible, when the opportunity is right.

I should say for a thrift shop buy the top's pretty good. the georgette is soft, light and sits well on the body.
I dote on this necklace, it's delicate and bold in it's own way. Every time I wear the necklace, it brightens up my day. With a trend for statement neck pieces, this one's drawn it's own bag full of compliments.
The cuff I must say is a kind of basic must have if you someone who likes to wear cuffs. Its also not pricey and available almost every where.
My brown leather stilettos are a classic, you can't go wrong with something like that. It's the best I've had when it comes to wearing heels to work or day wear.

Mint in trend

CORAL OR MINT? Mint it was!

I still recall the child like excitement I felt when looking aubergine pants becoming the new trend. Actually picked them up in corduroy just because I was so captivated by the colour (I used to hate corduroy, I remember my brother's corduroy being as heavy as denim!).  It was instantly followed by Levis bringing in a huge wave of coloured denims. Secretly wished this would disappear like an earthworm, it did however seemed to settle on two adorable colours - Coral pink and mint green.

I always fancied buying coral pants, I've tried them on every where. Yet I never found the right one, then I got to busy at work and life moved on. CHEMISTRY was having a SALE, yes my friend! The devil beckoned me to enter. Yet of all the pretty things they had to offer this one stuck to me like a second skin. Once I wore it, and I knew it had to be the ONE.

As for the choice of outfit itself, I should say this would be typically me. A large scarf with a basic tee, and shoes. I still remember being identified in college as the girl who wore over sized bright colour shawls (very infamously the red one :P) with the Red converse shoes.

Shoes : Bata

I know as a kid, I went to bata only for school shoes and rubber slippers. But I hate to admit it, Bata is doing well with their shoes. I don't think I still believe those shoes were @ 499! Oo and the handbags too!
p.s. I know the pictures not done justice to the shoes.

Birthday happiness? never grows old....

"I think, at a child's birth, if a mother could ask a fairy godmother to endow it with the most useful gift, that gift should be curiosity." Eleanor Roosevelt

So what do you ask for every time your birthday comes up? Well every year I ask god to help me fine the spot in my head that people would call sanity! I think I don’t pray hard enough.  Well my birthday comes at a strange time! So I’m expected to celebrate Christmas and new years with it. That’s why December is the best time of the year for me. What I don’t get throughout the year I get it all in one huge installment.

Well not every birthday is perfect! just like this year since I've not been working its been difficult to spend, because I have the great fear of draining my savings.( oooo not to mention I actually managed to save this year!) Well my mom got me few tops and a dress and also shoes :) , yet all together they looked mismatched! So I had to take a corrective measure. So what was the point of doing 2 years of design if I couldn't fix my self something. I couldn't help it, I've never been the girly type yet after having an overdose of MAD MEN I had to do it. I had to create something so 80's, and I fixed myself a half circular skirt. The task took me a few hours, and then I was pleased with myself.

Those are the super awesome shoes my mom gave me! I can't express the happiness I feel wearing them. Of course there is nothing like shopping with mom. Also love my dad for the super awesome rose gold watch from Tommy Hilfiger (p.s Its not in the picture) and I had to gift my pretty self something on the occasion, so I picked up the pretty pink box clutch.
