summer wardrobe

Lighter Brighter Summer

Whats worse than the perfectly cool Bangalore turning incredibly hot in summer. Yup summer is setting in! and it's time for a wardrobe change. I couldn't think of a better way of starting my summer shopping with a pair of shorts. I don't even know how much longer I would survive the heat my hair down, The fringe is killing me now. summer makes me want to lighten everything I wear. Yes that means lighter cloths, lighter colours, lighter make-up, lighter footwear. I know many of you might wonder why the scarf? but hey, truth be told I find wearing a cotton scarf in summers just as good as wearing an over sized scarf in winter.

The day eveything went wrong

Well Kavya's trippy location was a bust (sorry hon, next time a better outfit), and some how I keep forgetting that I'm not as lean as I used to be before. It's quite depressing when you don't fit into majority of you wardrobe favourites. Yet some how I still try to pull my new ones with the old and pacify myself. Also I love ponytails yet repeatedly forget my XL sized forehead is creepy, and those pretty red booties were hidden by my boot cut denims. But I still deserve a pat on my shoulder for salvaging whats left of the pictures. Hope you enjoy them.

It's like I knew some thing was to get capsized when I left the house. Practice makes perfect and I have to keep doing it until I perfect the art of dressing, I was an obsessive habit I've gained working @ Ffolio. Makes life very interesting.

Imagine ... John Lennon without his glasses?

I never liked the Beatles, personally I don't understand their music. Yet the most iconic thing about them to me was John Lennon and his round frame glasses. They captured my imagination, beyond my own understanding. I always believed if he took off his glasses he would hypnotize the world.

All thanks to my friend sid, I never would thrift shop sunglasses owing to my over sensitive hypnotic eyes, I now own a mercury tinted sunglasses.

Not to worry I don't plan to hypnotize anyone, just trying to contain my own madness. I don't want to die over radical ideology. With eternal love and peace from my heart, let it be until next time.

Mascara? yes please!

I've not used mascara for all most part of my life, it has something to do with the eyes being so super sensitive to everything! Until a year ago when I got a free mascara with the Max factor Red lip gloss that I bought. Max factor did nothing for my eyelashes, yet it covered the basic purpose to highlight the lashes. Most of my colleagues always used Maybelline colossal volume express, I hate to say it but it does what it claims to do. (Considering few year ago I would have never even looked at Maybelline products!) Although when self helped we cant really achieve the same effect as the models but its almost the same.

Well those are my eye lashes in the picture, I know that my lashes are fuller yet I had a colleague who had really tiny discoloured lashes who achieved the longer eye lash effect.

Few weeks ago I lost my colossal mascara and I went out and picked up the eyeconic! Lakme has always been a disappointment and no matter how WOW they make their products look the product is never good enough. it curls the lashes a bit but fads off in time. The mascara come of too if u touch the eyes. My friend who kept praising eyeconic must not know the real purpose of mascara. The image below will show you the before and after of eyeconic.

Ladies don't undermine the use of mascara, the pitch black eyes can't be achieved without it. I'm leaving you'll two quotes from two women we all know love their eyes black.

"When in doubt, always opt for going natural rather than hiding your skin under foundation and such. Line your eyes with kohl and mascara, put on some bright lip gloss and pinch your cheeks a little bit to get them all flushed and bright!" Genelia D'Souza

"I just blow-dry my hair and put on mascara and lip gloss, and I'm ready to go. I really don't get long nails. They're so Edward Scissorhands." Kelly Clarkson

Y do I love red so much? Make-up essentials #1

I always wanted to wear make-up as a kid (you'd be surprised at some of my kid photos!) But what ever I tried, make-up looked made up and so I had to give up! I was 18 when I first bought my eyeliner (Of course nobody ever mentions the tube of lip balm everyone carrying in uniforms for disciplinary reasons) and a whole bunch of lip-gloss tubes found their way into my make-up kit. It wasn't until I started working that I really filled my treasure chest, and now it's like a jar of candy that needs to be filled with new things all the time!

My friend once told me every woman has her own red. The first time I saw Miley Cyrus in her video of we can't stop, I just had to get my own red. It was quite the task to find the red I wanted! I must have visited the same make-up counters a couple of times, before I finally found something. I'm not quite the Miley who can afford the channel, but yet it was awesome to find a red I could work with in Maybelline coloursensational pleasure me red ;)

“Beauty, to me, is about being comfortable in your own skin. That, or a kick-ass red lipstick”. Gwyneth Paltrow

I love RED. It speaks for itself! its bold, loud, fearless and truly cannot be pretentious. Red is one of the pure colours and can not have a false sense of greatness like purple or be envious like green. It truly is the one colour that can be embodied by only women. I know some would say it's attention seeking but hey! who says its not asking for it. It takes a woman who is comfortable in her sink to wear it and truly look beautiful.
