Just an idea #1

I've had this sarong with me for a really long time, but I've never really come around using it. For the Nth time I pulled it out of my wardrobe to figure out how to use it. The problem always is the sarong is always too large to be used as anything. The other day while fidgeting around like usual an idea came to life. But honestly I can't say the outfit as a whole looks any good. But in the right combination of clothes this could work.

Step 1: Pick up one corner of the sarong.

Step 2: Draw it around your neck

Step 3: Pick up the short ends and tie it together behind your back.

Step 4: Draw the belt around your waist

Step 5: Take the knot and tug it into the belt

Like I said it's not a outfit, it's just a DIY dressing idea that came up and I wanted to share. It would look a better on a body cocoon dress or even with a white dress. Though it is something that can be worn to work or for dinner depending on your combination of clothes and accessories. Do try it at home its fun and not so complicated.

Animal print in trend

 Ready to bring out the animal in you?

Why do you thing there was a boom in the whole animal print trend? Or even in music when Miley sang fly on the wall, Shakira sings she wolf, Baha men sing who lets the dog out, even Elvis, The Beatles, Cobra starship, etc give refrences to animals. I guess it's because we might be all civilized but at that strange moment we all know the animal inside us wants to do something not so typical. We all have one animal we can all relate to, So whats your animal?

The most popular animal print in the market is Leopard, Zebra, and the Snake. its very easy to shop for one but the trick is to buy one that perfectly suits you. I never did buy an animal print, because wearing any sort of print in itself is quite the task in my head. I prefer to keep it simple, but then I found this top I was so thrilled I just couldn't let it go. Most prints look tacky and unrealistic like a modified graphic print, But this one just stood out like a real leopard coat. It was PERFECT considering my massive feline obsession.

It's a ensemble that came together perfectly in my head and when I wore it. Also I feel so delighted that every time I wear it, the top's always complimented :) Especially when my mom, who's always criticizing my choices, decides to make a direct compliment (that is without adding her but's after it!)

So what's the fuss about?

Of all the events I go to picking outfits always comes so naturally to me, but when your going to a flea market it's always wrong no matter that you choose to wear (Rhetorically so to say, everything wrongly put together is also considered street style hence also right!). But when you have to intentionally dress down it's always a challenge, So how do we downsize the drama? How do you still try to stay dressed?

So what do you keep in mind while dressing up. Don't forget this is not a soiree!

- HEAT: of course if your intention is to shop you have to be there in daylight, and with all that human traffic, food stalls and loud music the heat is bound to quadruple.  

- DUST: Yes sir! dust. Most flea markets's are hosted in places your feet would dread to tread, mostly open grounds, and with the foot fall the dust rises.

- NO Trial ROOMS: its always difficult to buy out of assumption. We don't need something that would end up at the bottom of the closet.

So I decided to lose the accessorizes to kill the drama. Picked on a pinkish white linen top to save me form the heat, and the denim pant and shoes to save me from the dust (Oh how grateful my feet wear for the shoes when I took them off to drive back home). The choice of a sling bag comes from the need to not keep it down while looking for things, and never forget the watch because its easy to lose track of time in places where there are so many exciting things to discover. But I guess it not possible to loose all the drama in life, so I had to wear the red lipstick.

What's the next best thing to a super hero?

Have you wondered what it is like to discover aliens? I always have, I secretly wish some mutated DNA would give me super powers. But next best thing to being a super hero is genius who figures out the super heros! (I know some of you would rather be swept of your feet by Thor, but not me) Have you been watching MARVEL's agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.? I am, and it's obsessive! and like every other TV series my favorites are the genius Fitz and Simmons. Their intelligence and natural curiosity makes they all the more amusing to watch. honestly it's been a while since I've watch a chic in a nerdy role (oh! wait do you remember anyone else?) I'm not saying Jemma's better than hard faced May or sneeky Skye, she's just so much more intelligent and well dressed. At least I can choose to dress like her. ;)

I know we have Mr. muscle man and Agent May to protect us, against the enemy. But who can figure out what energized Ward is an asgardian staff, or figure out what happen to the particle accelerator, or the strange electro magnetic disease and the anti serum for it. We all need the logical solution to the problem, even though we wish for a magical one. Yes sir! Jemma Simmnos is on the case.

thrift shop sale!

So! there are so many random things about this style that I want to say. Yet the truth is we all know the feeling of having something in the wardrobe that we are dying to wear even though we feel it's not yet time for it to be worn. I honestly wore the outfit purely for the top. I remember at work when we received Joseph and Willow (it was SS'13 I think) in the bright pinks, fiery oranges and neon yellows, I was dying to get my hands on the colour too. The idea of finding that colour in a Georgette eluded my mind and I never bothered to find anything like it.

So, I think all you spree shoppers would know the feeling when you come across a style you never thought you would find. What made it better was I found it in a thrift shop on sale! The back of my head was screaming help (I was actually looking for shoes), normal anxiety response is fight or flight but my heart and the rest of my whole self refused to listen. I hate to admit it but I probably wouldn't wear this combination again. I'd trade the jeans for a black leggings and the heels for my pale gold kolhapuries, Not just because it's more comfortable but also because I have the tendency to Indianize every thing I wear in every small way possible, when the opportunity is right.

I should say for a thrift shop buy the top's pretty good. the georgette is soft, light and sits well on the body.

I dote on this necklace, it's delicate and bold in it's own way. Every time I wear the necklace, it brightens up my day. With a trend for statement neck pieces, this one's drawn it's own bag full of compliments. 

The cuff I must say is a kind of basic must have if you someone who likes to wear cuffs.Its also not pricey and available almost every where. 

My brown leather stilettos are a classic, you can't go wrong with something like that. It's the best I've had when it comes to wearing heels to work or day wear.

Flea market buys #1

Why we all should go flea market shopping?

So flea markets, exhibitions, bazaars, and any type of events used to make a account for quite a bit of my family entertainment when I was a kid. I even got lost in one of them, one of my most amusing childhood memories of trying to be Sherlock! Ah forgive me, I could go on and on about those memories. But in the recent past we've all see a rise in the number of flee markets hosted in the city, especially targeting youngsters like us who like to do cheap shopping, fancy food and drinks, with a live band playing in the background.

Flee markets can be annoying most of the times, but there will be that one thing that you will find that will brighten up your whole day. Likewise I can never forget that day, my car lost a bumper (never mind that story) it was the first time I meet my best friends boyfriend (Ewwww) and the heat and dust of palace grounds was killing me! Yet what made my day was finding that dress :) 

We all know solids can make a statement in itself, but those who know me also know grey no matter which shade would be too dull for my nature. The accessories light up the effect of the dress, Never forget your accessories can make or break an outfit. p.s. this is something I would typically wear while thrift shopping or going out with my friends. With a jacket and heels I could even wear the dress to work!

The day eveything went wrong

Well Kavya's trippy location was a bust (sorry hon, next time a better outfit), and some how I keep forgetting that I'm not as lean as I used to be before. It's quite depressing when you don't fit into majority of you wardrobe favourites. Yet some how I still try to pull my new ones with the old and pacify myself. Also I love ponytails yet repeatedly forget my XL sized forehead is creepy, and those pretty red booties were hidden by my boot cut denims. But I still deserve a pat on my shoulder for salvaging whats left of the pictures. Hope you enjoy them.
